Education and public engagement is the cornerstone of progressive societies. We reached our development through our potentials and by building on our prior experiences and achievements, and education and public engagement are fundamental to our survival. Public education starts with teachers transmitting the correct information to their students and public participation is essential for adaptation and governance. This session calls for presentations of: Educational methods and projects employed by the school teachers when educating their students on the natural and anthropogenic hazards of their cities, education of public by the experts through school seminars and town hall meetings, and city government initiatives directed at the theme of the session. The subsequent education and public outreach session deals with the development and implementation of novel educational and public outreach initiatives that lead to resilient and sustainable city communities. Educational and public engagement initiatives presented with posters will be exposed throughout the day.
